Please pardon the mess while I get this order page up, it isn't a perfect product page but demand has been really high for the Mini Downshift Board that I wanted to have a purchase link up. Videos and how to's are being made currently but I'll do my best to help everyone use it in the meantime
Introducing the Mini Downshift Board
The Mini Downshift Board shares the same DNA of the Original Downshift Board but in a much smaller package. While the Original Board emphasized the lateral shift, the Mini teaches golfers how to utilize all three ground reaction forces in the proper sequence. At thirteen inches long , four inches wide and weighing only half a pound, the Mini Downshift Board is easy to transport anywhere including on the course (not legal for play but great for practice rounds when you're working on your swing changes). By using the Mini Downshift Board, you can practice off a flat lie anywhere since you're no longer standing on top of a board.
What does the Mini train that the OG does not?
While the the Original Downshift Board changed the game by teaching golfers how to utilize lateral forces, the Mini Downshift Board teaches golfers how to utilize the second and third forces; Anterior Posterior force (AP for short also known as rotational force) as well as the last, vertical force. There are ways to work on AP and vertical with the OG but I found it much easier to create a separate product that beginners as well as advanced players can use easily. Plus its only half a pound and can fit easily in any golf bag.
What about the first Ground Reaction Force?
In addition to teaching golfers how to utilize the forces in the correct sequence, the Mini Downshift Board versatility can be used to help golfers how to properly load the trail glute which is a major power source as well as a key element in properly starting the the kinetic and kinematic sequence. Loading the trail hip properly will help players "recenter" ie move laterally toward the target just like the OG Downshift Board.
What Else Does it Do?
When placed under the trail foot
-
Teaches proper loading of the trail hip/glute for more power from the ground up
- Eliminates sway (see above) for more consistent contact
- Create a deeper backswing with proper footwork for more power and an inside out swing path
- Helps players recenter the pelvis with proper trail glute load for more power
-
Helps eliminate early extension for more power and consistency
When placed under the lead foot
- Properly trains the kinetic sequence (Lateral, AP, Vertical forces) for more consistency and power
- Trains proper toe to heel transition to create more space to allow the club to whip through
-
Increase AP and vertical forces due to proper direction of force for more effortless power
- Eliminates sliding for more consistency
-
Teaches players how to hit the brakes (which allows the club to whip through properly)for more power
I designed the Mini Downshift Board with removable dowels that can be placed anywhere and in any direction on the bottom. By placing the dowel longways, it creates a firm structure for a player to turn against and create a stable lower body on the backswing to load the trail glute. This helps players naturally shift laterally and bank that trail foot. If you're an early extender you can learn to keep that right heel down through impact by placing the Mini Board underneath the trail foot and keeping it down on the ground through impact.
